Gut Health - and how you can check it.

Are you a regular gym goer, eat well and have what most people would consider a healthy lifestyle? But for some reason you’re not feeling it? Well it might be time to look at your poo, yes I did say poo.

 

Good looking poo can give an indication that your health and fitness is where is should be, but more importantly ugly poo can indicate that your body isn’t functioning properly. (is there such a thing as good looking poo?)

Going to the toilet is a natural function so having an understanding of what’s coming out as well as what’s going in can help you maintain a healthy interior.

 

So what does you poo tell you? It could indicate:

 

1) Your gut could be working better than it is

2) Your micobiotic balance is messed up

3) The diet you are on isn’t as good as it is made out to be

4) You are dehydrated (urine is also a good indicator, the clearer it is the better your hydration is)

5) You are stressed

6) Your workout is messing your gut up or your lack of exercise isnt helping it

As with all health problems if you are concerned about your poo you should go to the doctor and let them know what the issue is.  It’s possible they will ask you to provide a sample which will be sent off to the lab for analysis.
